| Hello! We are Dave and Barbara Sanders, founders of Fishin Mission Adventures. Originally from Philomath, a rural town between Salem and Eugene, Oregon, we sold our home, put Dave's custom home design business on hold, closed Barbara's real estate business, and moved to Tepic Nayarit Mexico in November 2006. We came with a dream to establish a business that would bring in a steady income to help a Christian, donation supported orphanage called Casa de Ninos in Tepic. The Casa takes in orphaned, abused and abandoned children from Tepic and the surrounding area and gives them a loving, safe place to live, grow, and heal from the hurts and pains they have experienced in their short lives. Because of the fluctuating income the Casa has been limited in the number of children they can take in and the wonderful staff work for a pittance of a salary. With Dave's love for, and skill in, bass fishing and Lake Aguamilpa being only an hour away, we began Fishin Mission Adventures. From the beginning the vision for Fishin Mission Adventures has been two-part. First to establish a business for financial support and secondly a place of retreat the children and staff can also come to for healing and growth. We donate 25% of each package cost to the Casa de Ninos. We have been followers of the Lord Jesus Christ most of our lives and desire that our personal lives, family, and business be a witness of His gracious goodness and love to us. Our immediate family includes our daughter, Jenn, currently living in NC, as well as our son, Michael, who lives in DC with his wife, Amy, and our grandson, Evan. We invite you to take the opportunity soon to come visit this beautiful area of Mexico to fish, play with the Casa kids, and be a part of what God is doing here. Benediciones! Dave & Barbara |
Our Goals: Our future goals include the construction of 5 two bedroom cabins and one caretaker house on our lake front property. In addition to accommodating anglers during the fishing season the cabins will be used for ministry events such as men's, women’s, and couple’s retreats during the off season and on available weekends. They will also allow us to provide the Casa kids with the needed opportunities to experience life away from the city on occasions. We are concerned with being able to provide some of the older kids opportunities to learn basic job skills. We would like to provide an environment where Godly work ethics can be imparted and also to be able to provide partial college scholarships for those who express a genuine desire to further their education. It is our intention that Fishin Mission Adventures would be donated in it’s entirety to the Casa de Ninos in the future. This will provide the Casa with additional financial resources to care for more of Tepic’s orphaned, abandoned, and abused children. _______________________________________________________________ _ Would You Like to Help ? We have always subscribed to the old and familiar adage, “Give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day, but teach him how to fish and you will feed him for a lifetime” If you agree and would like to partner together with us in our efforts to provide a continuing source of financial support for the work being done at the Casa please call toll free at 866-707-7922 , email me at dave@fishinmissionadventures.com for more information on ways you can help, OR make a Pay Pal donation on our Donations & Payments page.
